Obituary for Pamela "Pam" Behymer

Pamela Kay “Pam” Behymer, age 57 of Eddyville, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center of Des Moines, Iowa. Visitation for Pam will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel. Pam’s family will be greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday evening. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Eddyville United Methodist Church of Eddyville. Burial will follow services at Highland Cemetery of Eddyville. Pam was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, on April 7, 1959, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Ann (Jordan) Holliday, Jr. Pam was raised in Eddyville and attended Eddyville High School. On August 9, 1975 at her parent’s home in Eddyville Pam and Earl Eugene “Butch” Behymer were united in marriage. Pam and Butch shared over 41 years of marriage together and were blessed with two sons: Donny and Butch. Pam was a homemaker for many years. She enjoyed raising her family and attending their school functions. After her sons were in school Pam worked for Patty’s Welcome Inn and also APAC Telemarketing before working at Casey’s in Eddyville. For over 10 years in the morning Pam made donuts and breakfast pizza at Casey’s. Pam and Butch enjoyed dancing and riding motorcycles. They rode on the annual “Hogs for Dogs” Charity Ride of Ottumwa and they were former longtime members of the “Heartland Boot Scooters” of Ottumwa. Pam also enjoyed fishing and watching her grandchildren in their activities. Pam is survived by her husband of 41 years Earl “Butch” Behymer of Eddyville; two sons, Donny (Sheila) Behymer and Butch (Amanda) Behymer all of Eddyville; four grandchildren, Shay, Steven, Bre, and Cadence. Pam is also survived by her mother Elizabeth “Liz” Allison of Eddyville; two sisters, Deb (Jeff) Vanderwilt of Oskaloosa, and Patty (Les) Veldhuizen of rural Oskaloosa; and her special uncle Kenny Jordan. Pam was preceded in death by her father John Holliday and her step father Robert Allison. A memorial has been established in Pam’s name to the “Hogs for Dogs” annual charity ride.
