George Allen Myers age 62 of Oskaloosa, formerly of Eddyville, IA, passed away March 22, 2018 at the Mahaska Health Partnership, under hospice care in Oskaloosa, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel in Eddyville, Iowa. George was born on April 20, 1955. He was the only son of George Rue and Ruth Elaine (Hendricks) Myers. George was born in Ottumwa, but he and his three sisters were raised in Eddyville. George graduated from Eddyville High School, Class of 1973. After high school George enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served as an Aircraft Mechanic from 1973 to 1977. After his honorable service George worked for 40 years at Clow Manufacturing, as a machinist. He was a devoted worker for Clow and rarely missed work for forty years, recently retiring in 2017. George was devoted father who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was talented in arts and crafts and was a lifelong fisherman. He also enjoyed sci-fi and western movies and most recently began to run remote controlled helicopters. George is survived by his four children, Rose McDaniel - Lavalley and fiancée Kent of Toledo, Elaine Puyear and fiancée Jason of Oskaloosa, David Myers of Oskaloosa, and Jessica Myers of Albia; seven grandchildren, Connor, Maddy, Cameron, Ariana, Travis, Lilly, and Kaylanna. He is also survived by his three sisters Kate Chambers and husband Dan of Eddyville, Judy Peterson of Knoxville and Wanda Stephanie and husband Mike of Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Ruth Myers.
