Obituary for Kenneth "Fats" Emanuel
Kenneth “Fats” Eugene Emanuel, age 84, of Eddyville, Iowa, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 at his home in Eddyville, Iowa.
Kenneth was born on June 14, 1936 in Eddyville, Iowa to Gilbert and Mabel (Poe) Emanuel. Kenneth was raised in Eddyville graduating from Eddyville High School, class of 1955. He enjoyed playing baseball and roller skating when he was younger. He later met the love of his life at the roller skating rink. On May 25, 1958 Kenneth was united in marriage to Martha Ann Vroom at the First Baptist Church in Oskaloosa. To this union four children were born; Martha, Kimberly, Tracey, and Kenneth.
Kenneth worked on the rail road, worked for Lynn’s Poultry, and worked at Clow Valve in Oskaloosa until his retirement. Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing with his children, grandchildren, and great grand daughter. He also enjoyed watching game shows on TV with his great grandchildren. He enjoyed watching baseball, softball, and football on TV.
Kenneth is survived by his children, Kimberley (David) Johnson of Moravia, Tracey (Randy) Van Maanen of Eddyville and Kenneth II (Cara) Emanuel of Albia; one brother, Richard (Joyce) Emanuel of Oskaloosa; one sister, Helen McDonough of Rock Island, IL. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chelsea (JD) Thompson, Dana (Steven) Mckim, Christie (Willie) Wilson, and Ashley Emanuel; great grandchildren, Jaylynn Emanuel, Steven Mckim Jr., Carson Mckim, Kase Wilson, and Kyler Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann Emanuel; daughter, Martha Ann Emanuel; parents, Gilbert and Mabel Emanuel, and brother-in-law, Gary McDonough.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2020 in Highland Cemetery with Pastor Nick Hughes officiating. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church. Online condolences may be left for the family at eddyvillefuneralchapel.com.
