Obituary for Betty Williams
Betty Jane Williams, age 93, of Centerville, formerly of Eddyville, passed away on November 14, 2020, at the Golden Age Care Center in Centerville.
She was born on September 2, 1927 to Azle and Margaret (Hart) Shilling. Betty was raised in Eddyville and spent most of her life there. She married Russell Price and they were blessed with a daughter, Susie. They later divorced, and she then married Lester Williams on October 10, 1978.
Betty enjoyed many activities including fishing with her niece Vickie, gardening; especially eating the tomatoes and onions and visiting with friends. Her family was everything to her. She loved spending time with her husband Lester and nephew Bob and his wife. She had a special place in her heart for her dog Sam.
She is survived by her step-children and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Azle and Margaret, husbands, Russell and Lester, a daughter, Susie and siblings, Geneva in infancy, Kenneth, Alice, Clara, Opal, Janet, Floria, Lawerence, Frank, Levi and Harold.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Pleasant Corners Cemetery. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 9:00 a.m, until the service begins at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel. According to the rules put in place by the Iowa Department of Public Health, proper social distancing and reasonable personal protective equipment is advised for attending a religious public event, masks are required at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Services will be live streamed on the Eddyville Funeral Chapel facebook page.
