Barbara Ann Allgood, age 84, of Eddyville, IA, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022 under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice.

Barbara was born on April 27, 1938 in Eddyville to Fredrick and Edna (Simmers) Johnston. She married Ray Allgood on December 2, 1954, and they were blessed with two sons, Donald and Robert. Ray preceded her in death on April 27, 2011.
Barbara enjoyed gambling, especially playing the slots. She also enjoyed antiquing, refinishing furniture, cooking, pulling weeds and working in her flower garden. She was her husband Ray’s right hand woman. Barbara cherished her family and all family functions.
Survivors include her sons, Donald (Ray) Allgood of Eddyville, Robert Lee “Sky” Allgood of Eddyville; three grandchildren, Shawn Abernathy, Barry Allgood, Megan Brooks; seven great grandchildren, Jered, Jaydin, Ryleigh, Baylie, Colby, Haelynn, Olin; one great great grandchild, Henzley; sister, Phyllis Herrington; brother-in-law, Glen Everhart of West Des Moines; sister-in-law, Joy Bridenstine of Urbandale, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Edna Johnston; husband, Ray Allgood; two brothers, Robert and John Johnston, and one sister, Betty Everhart.
